What You Can Do with This Tool
Amazon requires main product images to be at least 1000 pixels on the longest side so the zoom function works. The recommended size is 2000x2000 pixels or larger. Images must have a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255) and the product should fill at least 85% of the frame.
These aren't just suggestions. Amazon actively enforces image standards. Listings with non-compliant images can be suppressed from search results. Your product won't show up even if someone searches for the exact product name. That means lost sales with no obvious explanation.
This tool resizes your product photos to meet Amazon's requirements. It handles the 2000x2000 pixel target and gives you a properly sized square image. If your original photo isn't square, the tool adjusts the canvas so your product stays centered.
Beyond the main image, Amazon allows up to 8 additional images per listing. These can show different angles, lifestyle usage or close-up details. Each one should also meet the minimum 1000-pixel requirement. Consistent sizing across all listing images creates a smooth shopping experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need 2000x2000 for Amazon or is 1000x1000 enough?
Technically 1000x1000 is the minimum, but go with 2000x2000. Amazon's zoom feature requires at least 1000px on the longest side to work, and zoom is proven to increase conversions. Uploading at 2000x2000 also future-proofs your listing if Amazon raises the minimum later.
My listing got suppressed and I think it's the image. The background looks white to me but Amazon keeps rejecting it. What RGB value do they need?
Amazon requires pure RGB 255,255,255. Even 254 can trigger suppression. Your camera probably captured the background as slightly off-white. Use our White Background Maker to get exact 255,255,255 white, then resize here to 2000x2000.
What size should my main image vs. secondary images be?
Main image: 2000x2000 minimum, pure white background, product fills at least 85% of the frame. Secondary images (slots 2-8): same dimensions work best for consistency, but background can be anything, lifestyle shots, infographics, comparison charts. All images should be square (1:1 ratio).
The product needs to fill 85% of the frame. How do I measure that?
It's a rough guideline, not a pixel-perfect requirement. Your product should look prominent with a thin white border around it, not a tiny item floating in a sea of white space. If your product fills most of the square with a small margin on each side, you're good.
My A+ Content images look blurry after uploading even though they're high resolution. What's going on?
Amazon applies aggressive compression to A+ Content images. Upload at higher resolution than the display size. If the A+ module shows at 970px wide, upload at 1940px wide (2x). This gives Amazon more data to work with after their compression.
